COVID-19 Updates Feed

Sent January 15, 2022

As we prep for camp we’re thoroughly reviewing local, regional, and national health guidelines pertaining to COVID-19. Based on the best available information, communication and clearance from our permitting partners, camp is still on for 2022! In order to reduce risk of exposure for all staff and participants we ask that all of attendees are fully vaccinated. Since majority of attendees will be sharing cabins and all meals are communal, Rails Camp and the venue are also requiring all attendees pass a rapid antigen or equivalent COVID-19 test within 72 hours of camp to reduce risk of infection.

For our attendees coming from outside the US: If you’re coming from the UK or other countries, you must produce a negative COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test (LFD) or the international equivalent of that test.

If state or federal health directives prevents Rails Camp or the venue from operating as published, any and all collected fees may be converted to a credit towards a future 2023 camp.  This credit will be subject to our normal terms and conditions. Traveler’s insurance, purchased by attendees, remains essential to safeguarding the financial risk associated with adventure travel, this pertains to issues related and unrelated to Covid-19. We continue to encourage all participants to protect their investment accordingly.

For folks who bought tickets in 2019-2021…All tickets follow the same policy, no refunds only transfers to other people you find to take your spot next year if needed. If you have a sponsored ticket or have sponsored camp in anyway  all agreements  still stand on the contract!

After  many long negotiations  with the venue and bus company, as well as discussions with attendees  we are going to be postponing camp this year.  I know.  I’m so sad too. This is the first summer I haven’t seen Rails Campers in 6 years!

It will be the same exact week next year, August 31-Sept 3rd, 2021  (Labor Day being the following Monday again). Same venue, same everything. All tickets follow the same policy, no refunds only transfers to other people you find to take your spot next year if needed. If you have a sponsored ticket or have sponsored camp in anyway  all agreements  still stand on the contract.

Thank you for your patience on these updates! You may not hear from me for awhile but I’m only an email or twitter DM away if you have questions until planning/details start up again next year.

Until then, thinking of you, and hope you and your family are staying healthy right now!

First off, huge air hug. These are some tough and scary times. I'm thinking of you and hope you are staying healthy mentally and physically right now! I'm here to share some  good news, Rails Camp 2020  is still on!  Here's  an  overall update on the state of everything...

The event is 90% sold out and has enough sponsorship money to put it on, on a budget. If you're seeing events being canceled well into September it's because many of them will have a hard time  selling and marketing  with everything going on. If you and everyone else  hadn't grabbed an early  ticket, we  would most likely be cancelling.

Absolute worse case scenario?
We will  reschedule  the event to be the same exact week and location next year, August 31-September 3, 2021.

Can we just postpone the event a few months?
I wish! We are not able to post pone just a few months  because the venue is fully booked in 2020. And to be honest  the weather in the North Cascades  gets pretty iffy  later in the year anyway.

Booking travel?
If you haven't bought your flights  make sure to read the terms and conditions  when purchasing  and consider trip insurance if the airline is still charging fees for changes/cancellations.

We will be sending updates as things progress over the next couple months.

Thinking of you, we will get through this!

Take care,
Bobbilee
